the g chord

the g chord.........hopefully your proficient with the other 2 chords we practiced. After this a song is a heartbeat away. first finger on the (a) string, second finger on the (E) and third finger on the small (e). there's your g chord....work on that....+ try to switch between em once you get the hang of all three chords,
keep the beat 1-2-3-4. just practice the g for now, the others we already know. we will switch between all three in the next 2 weeks, get g for now. this one uses all 6 strings

the d chord

Next we have the d chord.......

this time the #'s don't represent both frets and fingers. This time the index finger is on the third string (g) in the 2nd fret, the second finger goes on the 1st string (e) in the second fret, and the third finger on the second string (b) in the third fret, strum all strings except the 6th string (E) and the 5th string (A). (the top 2) that's a D chord. we're gonna work on that this week, we may even try to strum and switch between the 2 chords(c, d) as we go....but that will come later anyway, for now just get the feel of where your fingers should be for each chord AND PRACTICE!!

We decided on the C chord to start with

here is the C chord we are starting with for the week, the numbers represent, in this case, both fret # and finger #'s.
with index finger on 5th string (b) in the first fret, next finger on the 3rd string (d) in the 2nd fret, and next finger on 2nd string (a) in the 3rd fret. strum all strings except the 6th string (E). that's a c-chord.
